Wyclef Jean’s Accountant Says “There Ain’t No Money” Is His Bank Account!

The legal troubles are deep and wide for former Fugees members. It looks like Lauryn Hill is not the only one catching heat for what she owes.

Wyclef Jean’s former lawyers filed a six-figure legal judgment because he failed to make payments to help reduce his debt.

Despite the lawsuit, Jean’s business manager had some unfortunate news for the musician’s lawyers: Wyclef Jean is broke.

According to The Smoking Gun, Jean’s accountant stated in a January e-mail to creditors:

“There ain’t no money.”

According to reports, other records note both federal and state authorities have notified Jean of his $2.9 million tax liens during mid-2012.

Currently, this amount remains outstanding. Based on information received from the New York State Supreme Court filings, Wyclef Jean agreed to pay the law firm of firm Shukat Arrow Hafer Weber & Herbsman a settlement of $100,000 to resolve his outstanding bill of $133,000.

Jean was required to pay $10,000 by August 1, 2013 and $50,000 at the end of the year. If he made those two payments, the law firm would have waived the remaining $40,000.

Records show Jean failed to make those payments and the law firm concluded he would have to pay the entire $100,000, plus ten percent annual interest.

Due to his defunct payments, the Shukat law firm filed another $102,027.40 judgment against Wyclef. Prior to filing the judgment, the law firm notified Jean’s business manager again.

Jean’s accountant David Levin told them to proceed with the filing because once again he noted: “In my most professional verbiage…there ain’t no money.”

This is not the first incident where Wyclef Jean has been called out for money issues. When he announced his candidacy to be the President of his home country of Haiti, the IRS came after him with $2.1 million dollars in tax liens.

Also the charity for Haiti’s Earthquake Relief Aide supposedly funded the singer and his lavish lifestyle.
