Jada Pinkett Smith Struts Around In New Look

She plays a cunning mob boss in her upcoming Batman-based television series Gotham.

But Jada Pinkett Smith was certainly out of character on Monday when she strolled through LAX airport in Los Angeles rocking a pair of nineties-style pink Capri jeans.

The 42-year-old teamed the retro attire with a pair of animal print peep-toe stilettos, a loose white tank top which showed off a hint of her lacy bra and a felt bowling hat.

Underneath the headgear, Jada debuted yet another hair colour, this time blonde highlights in her cropped locks.

Just last month Jada was spotted on the set of her new TV series Gotham sporting jet black hair with a dip-dyed red fringe.

Back in February, the Matrix Reloaded star noted on Facebook that she had gained '8-10 pounds,' but explained 'I think I will keep it. I like being a lil…fuller.'

'Here's to loving our bodies by our own standards,' she proclaimed. Jada is certainly following her own advice, looking perfectly confident on her stroll through LAX.

Jada's character of Fish Mooney in her upcoming series Gotham is a role that was created specifically for the show.

According to her official character description, Jada's Fish has 'got the street smarts and almost extra-sensory abilities to read people like an open book... Imposing and hotheaded, she’s not one to be crossed'.

Gotham is a prequel to the Batman stories that continue to be hits on the big screen and focus more on the rise of the embattled city's to-be police commissioner Jim Gordon.

The series represents a return to live action acting for Jada, who's exclusively partaken in Madagascar related roles since 2011, which see her provide the voice for Gloria, the hippo.
