Kelly Rowland recently discussed plans for her upcoming wedding to long-time boyfriend and manager, Tim Witherspoon. And it turns out that she’s following through with her original plans of having a very small, intimate ceremony.
“I just wanted it to be a nice peaceful day with just me, him and our mothers,” the “Dirty Laundry” singer told Hello Beautiful. “That’s it.”
As for an actual wedding party, Kelly says there won’t be one. No bridesmaids. No groomsmen. No muss. No fuss. And while the former Destiny’s Child singer seems extremely pleased with this decision, she admits that those close to her, who were looking to partake in her special day, are not.
“Nope [no bridesmaids]. And they’re not happy about that.”
The news definitely isn’t shocking to fans of the soon-to-be-married singer. After confirming her engagement just a few months ago, Kelly revealed that an extravagant wedding with a super long guest list wasn’t an ideal situation for her.
“I think we just really want it to be us and our pastor. That’s it,” she told People last December. “I mean, we are the only two that’s going to be in the marriage.”
As long as Kelly and her fiancé are happy on their big day, that’s all that really matters.
