Michael Douglas And Wife Catherine Zeta-Jones Put On Show Of Unity As They Support Meryl Streep At Award Ceremony

They only recently made their first public appearance together following their reconciliation.

But Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones racked up their second in as many weeks as they supported their friend Meryl Sreep in New York on Monday.

The pair looked happy and relaxed as they turned out at the 14th Annual Monte Cristo Award event.

The jolly couple looked in sparkling form as they posed up with the Iron Lady actress on the pre-show red carpet.

Wall Street hunk Michael, 69, looked suave in a grey suit and blue shirt, and rounded off his look with a snazzy red tie.

Meanwhile, Catherine, 44, meanwhile was in good shape in an off-the-shoulder black top, white trousers and leather shoes.

While they had often been spotted together in recent months, they did not make their official debut until they attended the off-Broadway premiere of The Library last week.

But while the show was directed by Steven Soderbergh in his stage debut and also starred Chloe Grace Moretz, there was no doubting they were in the presence of real showbusiness royalty on Monday.

Before they got back together following their split in August, Michael insisted they were working on keeping their marriage intact.

He said: 'We were just taking a little break. We’re talking. I think everything will be fine, and I’m very hopeful.'

Their friend Meryl, 64, seemed delighted to be adding an other expensive bauble to her collection at the event at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center.

As well as countless minor honours, she has scooped three Oscars. two BAFTAs and two Emmy Awards.
