Rihanna Gives $25K To Charity After Accidentally Smashing Police Commission Chief's Phone At NBA Game

It seemed she would be in the black books after smashing L.A. Police Commission President Steve Soboroff's phone.

But Rihanna proved to be a bad girl done good when made up her mistake by handed over $25,000 to a charity fund for officers.

The unfortunate accident occurred as the pair attempted to take a selfie together to show support for the LAPD at the Clippers NBA playoff game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday.

As the chart-topper tried to take the snap she suffered an attack of butterfingers, dropping the device onto the floor and cracking the screen.

The Good Girl Gone Bad singer shared a friendly Twitter exchange with Steve afterwards, saying: 'Sorry I broke your phone @SteveSoboroff :)'

And the 65-year-old kept his followers update about developments, saying: 'BIG @rihanna news: she's donating $25,000 to @LAPoliceFdtn for cadets & families of fallen officers.'

He also revealed he was auctioning his mobile to raise more money for the good cause, after getting her to sign it of course, with the Barbadian beauty writing: 'Sorry! I ♥ LAPD. Rihanna.'

The item, which still works despite having a cracked screen, is currently for sale on eBay, with a current top bid of $1,375.

Explaining the incident in the lot description, Steve said: ' I asked her to take a selfie with me wearing LAPD wristbands to show support for our officers.

Rihanna took the phone from me and wanted to take the selfie herself!
'While she was taking our selfie, she dropped the phone and the screen cracked!'

Half the money raised from the auction will go towards the LAPD Cadet program, with the going to towards the Los Angeles Police Memorial Foundation to support the families of fallen officers.
