Michael Jackson may no longer be alive but the King of Pop's music will never die.

On Thursday night, Usher paid tribute to the late legend at the iHeart Music Awards in Los Angeles, California.

Fans of Michael not only got to hear the star's latest single, Love Never Felt So Good, but also got to see it performed live on stage.

With Michael now dead for five years this June, Usher, along with a host of dancers, stepped in to help recreate the magic of the pop star's words.

The song is one of a number of tracks which were lost but will now form part of his second posthumous album called XSCAPE, which will be out May 13.

The song and Usher's performance, was introduced by former X Factor judge and music exec L.A. Reid.

Recorded back in 1983 - and produced by John McClain and Paul Anka - the single will also feature a bonus version that sees Justin Timberlake lend his vocals to the track in a new recording.

While many expected JT to hit the stage on Thursday, Usher was given the honour and did so with gusto.

Emulating the moves of the late star, the 35-year-old and his back up dancers did their best to make the star-studded audience feel as though they were watching a Michael Jackson performance.

Images of the King of Pop in his best known video clips were projected on to the stage, as well as two dancers pretending to spray a graffiti image of the star.

Showing off just how good of a dancer he is, the Burn singer moonwalked his way across stage and even jumped up onto one of the dinner tables in the audience.

For his performance, Usher may have borrowed the dances moves for Michael but wore a style of his own.

The Voice judge donned a pair of leather tracksuit pants with a black T-shirt and a hard to miss gold leather sleeved letterman jacket which co-ordinated with his gold shoes.

Fans can buy the latest single, which has a very disco feel to it on iTunes.

While many expected Justin, it was fitting Usher led the tribute as the performer cites Michael as one of the greatest influences in his career.

Just after Michael's death the star told MTV: 'I think Michael Jackson is by far one of the most impactful artists in music.

'You can’t say that you are an artist in this century and [not be] influenced by Michael Jackson.

'I consider myself very fortunate to have had the opportunity to share the stage with him, to know him personally, and I am always going to remember him.'
