He’s a billionaire that hasn't forgotten the little people. Dr. Dre made a waitress’s day this week when the music mogul and Beats headphones entrepreneur left her a tip she is sure to never forget.
The 49-year-old hip-hop head was enjoying an evening at the poolside bar at the Mondrian Hotel in West Hollywood. Word is he was taking shots of tequila before heading home at about 2 a.m. Dre was cordial with fans and even took photos with some of them. He also took the time to chat with the bar’s DJ, DJ Sanni Val Fleury.
The waitress nearly passed out when she saw the generous tip Dre left her – $5,000. Dre can certainly afford it. His Beats headphones are such a huge phenomenon that Apple bought Beats Entertainment this week to the tune of $3.2 billion.
Dr. Dre Reveals Cast of NWA Movie With billions lining his pockets from the recent sale of his Beats headphones company to Apple, Dr. Dre is moving forward full steam with plans for a movie on the group that started it all for him and Ice Cube – NWA. The movie, slated for an August 2015 release, will focus on the lives and career of the legendary group that included Dre, Ice Cube and the late Eazy E.
According to Dre himself on Twitter, two relatively new actors will play young version on him and Eazy E, while Ice Cube’s son will play a younger version of Ice Cube.
Check out the photo of Cube, Dre and Cube’s son (bottom left) as well as others that will be in the film. Other cast members include O’Shea Jackson Jr., Marcus Callendar and Jason Mitchell, who will take on the role of Eazy E. Eazy E’s widow, Tomica Wright, took part in the choosing of Mitchell to play her late husband.
