The Wu-Tang Clan Visit “The Daily Show”, Premiere New Song “Ron O’neal”

One of the most anticipated reunions in Hip-Hop just happened on an unlikely stage

The Wu-Tang Clan has had their share of differences over the past year, highlighted by a significant rift between The RZA and Raekwon –two of the group’s original and most prominent members–that went so far, both RZA and Raekwon spent significant time doing radio interviews detailing the beef they had with each other.

It appears that they’ve put their differences behind them for the sake of the group, and the collective’s new album, A Better Tomorrow, and they showed off their newfound solidarity on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, where they performed a new track “Ron O’neal”.

They also performed “Triumph” from their 1997 album, Wu-Tang Forever. ”Triumph” is a historically legendary song for two reasons: one, it had no hook, just straight bars, perhaps an early inspiration for Cappadonna’s Hook Off, an entire album with no hooks; and two, they did the seemingly impossible by getting a six minute song on the radio.

In case you didn’t know, The Wu-Tang Clan will be making their official on-stage reunion at theSOURCE360 Concert on Sept. 20th at The Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NYC. You can purchase tickets to the show here.
