NFL professional Ray Rice was given a two-game suspension after video footage surfaced of him dragging his then-fiancée (and now wife) Janay Palmer, who was seemingly unconscious, out of an Atlantic City casino elevator.

Now, new footage has been released of what the altercation looked like inside the elevator—and it’s absolutely horrifying.

In the video—recorded on Feb. 15 and released by TMZ, Sept. 8—the Baltimore Ravens running back and Janay are in the elevator at the Revel Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City. After entering the elevator, she approaches the football player—only to be met with a punch so hard it knocks her to the ground.

When the doors open again, Ray is seen dragging his significant other, who appears to be unconscious, out of the elevator.

Shortly after the incident, when the original footage of him exiting the elevator went public, he was given a two-game suspension—which was met with criticism by many, who didn’t believe the punishment was harsh enough.

Now, the NFL is firing back by insisting officials had not seen the footage from the altercation that had taken place from inside the elevator until it was made public by TMZ earlier today.

At this time, it’s unclear whether or not the NFL will reopen the investigation of the incident.

Watch the footage from inside the elevator — WARNING: This video contains graphic footage of domestic abuse.
