If you were a fan of Wendy Williams during her later radio days, chances are you know that Power 105.1 personality Charlamagne Tha God was her mentee and co-host back in the day. The media maven recently appeared on the Elvis Duran Morning Show and many were surprised at all of the shade she threw when asked about Charlamagne.

“Who?” Wendy repeated several times when she was informed that Charlamagne was down the hall from where they were recording. “I can’t identify with people I don’t know.”

During Angela Yee’s Rumor Report Charlamagne addressed Wendy’s snub saying:
“I have no idea why she feels that way. I couldn’t tell you. I never had a problem with Wendy or her husband, Kev. Well, I did have a falling-out with Kev. And I can’t even say why we had a falling-out. I couldn’t tell you he stopped messing with me. I don’t know what the issue is, but I wish them both the best. I wish Wendy and her husband, Kev, the best [...] She gave me my break is this radio game. I was doing radio in South Carolina, then her and Kev brought me to New York. I was with her for three years on ‘The Wendy Williams Show.'”

The “Breakfast Club” host further explained how he felt about Wendy’s words during his “Brilliant Idiots” podcast with Andrew Schulz.

“It bothers me more than anything when people question my character,” he explained. “I pride myself on being the nicest person in the room or being the nicest person to people.”

“So when you try to play me like, I’m a f*cked up individual, I did something foul to you — that’s what bothers me,” he continued. “And that’s why it hurt me this week, when Wendy Williams was on the ‘Elvis Duran Show.'”

“It hurt man, I can’t even front, it hurt. I was like ‘What the f*ck!’ You know why it hurt…Exactly, I give a sh*t….And the fact that I don’t have a clue as to why, we don’t f*ck with each other. Like her husband, literally sent me a text message one day like ‘I don’t f*ck with you no more, don’t call me whatever, whatever…’ I called him back, he did not answer the phone…That was like February of 2010…We haven’t spoken since…Straight up.”

Despite being hurt by her public snub and being cut off by Kev, Charlamagne refused to make fun of or allow his co-host to speak poorly of Wendy.

“That woman put me in the position that I’m in now. I could never talk bad about her.”
