Jay Z, Beyonce, 50 Cent & More Joined Jake Gyllenhaal At The ‘Nightcrawler’ Premiere
Last night, Jay Z and Beyonce made a surprise appearance at the New York premiere of “Nightcrawler.”
The film which opens this Friday, October 31, is a pulse-pounding thriller set in the nocturnal underbelly of contemporary Los Angeles. Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Lou Bloom, a driven young man desperate for work who discovers the high-speed world of L.A. crime journalism. Finding a group of freelance camera crews who film crashes, fires, murder and other mayhem, Lou muscles into the cut-throat, dangerous realm of night crawling — where each police siren wail equals a possible windfall and victims are converted into dollars and cents.
Aided by Rene Russo as Nina, a veteran of the blood-sport that is local TV news, Lou blurs the line between observer and participant to become the star of his own story. “Nightcrawlers” also stars Rene Russo, Bill Paxton, Riz Ahmed.
Open Road Films and the Stone Rose lounge hosted the New York premiere at AMC Lincoln Square. Beyonce and Jay Z were the buzz of the event as they came to support their friend Jake. 50 Cent was also in the building. We spotted “Fruitvale Station” star Melonie Diaz, Judah Friedlander, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Lester Holt, Emily Meade, Michael Shannon and Michael Zegen.
