She was just 23-years-old when she underwent ten plastic and cosmetic surgery procedures in one day including breast implants, a chin reduction and liposuction.
But Heidi Montag says she now regrets the alterations to her body which reportedly cost her in the region of $30,000.
In a new interview with Extra, she reveals she was left in a great deal of pain and distress by the operations which she underwent due in part to low self esteem.
'Blogs were just starting then. People would write the meanest nastiest things and sometimes I would read them and then I started feeling them' she told reporter Renee Bargh and Dr. Armand Dorian. 'I disliked myself so much I literally chopped up my whole body.'
As a result, not only is Heidi known for reality show The Hills and being married to reality star Spencer Pratt, she is also famous for her dramatic body and face changes.
'I'm surgery girl. That sucks,' she said.
Now 28-years-old, Heidi's list of procedures also included having her ears pinned back, a nose job revision and a mini brow lift.
She went back under the surgeon's knife last year after suffering repercussions from her huge F-cup implants.
'My implants were falling through,' she confessed. 'They were three pounds each so I was really miserable. Obviously, I didn't want to go back into surgery, but it was really necessary.'
However, Heidi regrets her chin reduction the most.
'I have TMJ now and my jaw hurts,' she complained. 'I don’t think people do tell you the trauma of what you’re going to heal from. I was in so much pain, I actually thought I was going to die.'
Temporomandibular joint and muscle disorders - or TMJ - are a group of conditions that cause pain and dysfunction in the jaw joint and the muscles that control jaw movement.
The star became subdued when confronted with snapshots of herself as a teenager.
'Sometimes it makes me a little sad because I see not only what I look like, but who I was,' she admitted.
Nowadays, Heidi, who married Hills co-star Spencer Pratt in 2009, has vowed not to go under the knife again.
'I'm just done with all of it,' she said 'I'm going to age gracefully and bow out.'
