Tom Cruise’s Secret Mission Is A Bit Too Successful After Hotel Staff Fail To Recognise Him

Tom Cruise is one of the most recognisable people on the planet – except in Peterborough that is.

The 52-year-old acting star has been over in the UK filming for a new Mission Impossible movie.

For security reasons, production staff have been keen to keep Cruise’s movements top secret, including checking him and co-star Simon Pegg, 44, into the Marriot hotel in Peterborough under the name Operation Fromage – French for cheese.

Cruise – whose other movie credits include Top Gun and Risky Business – spent five days at the hotel, shooting stunts at nearby RAF Wittering.

The whole keeping things on the down-low was going so well, even hotel staff failed to recognise him, with one asking if he had a hotel loyalty card when ordering breakfast.

‘Tom took it in good jest, but given the security operation to keep his and Simon’s stay under wraps it was funny no one seemed to bat an eyelid,’ a source reportedly told The Sun
