Justin Timberlake was honored with the Innovator Award at Sunday’s iHeartRadio Music Awards in L.A.
Following an introduction from designer Tom Ford (who also dressed him), a humble JT accepted by quoting Steve Jobs’ college commencement speech (“Stay hungry, stay foolish”) and former president Theodore Roosevelt (“It is not the critic who counts…”).
“Growing up in school, no one ever called me anything close to an innovator,” said Timberlake. “They called me different, they called me weird, they called me a couple other words I can't say on TV.”
To everyone who participated in that piece for @iHeartRadio awards: I love you dearly and am so humbled by all of you. Thank you so much.

The 34-year-old got emotional at one point (“I said I wasn't gonna cry”) and ended by thanking his wife and best friend Jessica Biel, who is pregnant with the couple’s first child.
